Activity: North Hill to Sandy Ground [This has changed from Katouche to Sandy Ground]
A hike that mixes Anguilla’s cultural and natural heritage: explore the ruins of an old sugar plantation, hike through the hillside forests, and then jump into the warm Atlantic waters.

Need to Know/Special Requirements: Shoes that can get wet; clothes that can get wet; shorts; swimsuit; towel; sunscreen; hat; backpack

Provided: Guide, water, snack

A hike that covers almost all of Anguilla’s natural features – from caves to forests; from beaches to limestone cliffs.

 

Activity: Little Bay circuit hike

A walk through fields and small forests and along a beach and Anguilla’s northern coastline with stunning views of Little Bay.

 

Activity: West End to Barnes Bay

A hike along Anguilla’s northwest coastline that involves along a walk through tidal pools, beaches, and low-lying scrub. When the seas allow, cliff-climbing can be optional.

 

Activity: Crocus Bay to Little Bay

Need to Know/Special Requirements: Must be a strong swimmer and comfortable using snorkel gear. Swimsuit; towel; sunscreen. Rash guard optional.

Provided: Guide, snorkel gear; water, snack

A guided snorkel along the cliffline from Crocus Bay to Little Bay and back. Learn about Anguilla’s seagrass beds, coral and fish. Almost always guaranteed to see a sea turtle or stingray. For those who are adventurous, there’s an opportunity to jump from the top of the Little Bay rock into the clear deep waters of the Bay. Snorkel equipment will be provided if required.

Activity: Katouche Valley hike

Learn about Anguilla’s wetlands and birds by exploring one of Anguilla’s Important Bird Areas. Children learn how to use binoculars and how to identify birds.

Activity: Big Spring Heritage Site

Visit one of Anguilla’s most important Amerindian heritage sites and learn about their drawings and lives. Make a take-home souvenir during the arts & crafts session following the site visit.

Turtle Patrol

Name of Tour: Turtle Patrol
Price: US$50/person; US$20/child under 12 for an unlimited number of nights

Frequency: Nightly during September and October; 7.30pm to midnight

Meeting Point: Anguilla National Trust office. Pick up from your hotel may be arranged at an additional charge.

Need to Know/Special Requirements: Main beaches patrolled include Blackgardens Bay, Limestone Bay, and Mimi Bay. Long pants; sweater

Provided: Guide, sea turtle pocket guide, flashlight, bug spray, water, snack

 

Learn first-hand about Anguilla’s nesting sea turtles by taking part in sea turtle night patrols. As there is no guarantee that sea turtles will come onto the beach to nest, take part in as many patrols as you would like during your stay on Anguilla.

North Hill to Sandy Ground

Time: 9.00am to 11.30am

Need to Know/Special Requirements: Shoes that can get wet; clothes that can get wet; shorts; swimsuit; towel; sunscreen; hat; backpack

A hike that slinks down to a rocky coast using a century-old trail to the ruins of a sugar plantation estate, up the steep inclines of forested hills, and finally through turquoise blue waters to Sandy Ground.

The highlights: Bats in Cavannaugh Cave; the dry tropical forest of Katouche Valley; jumping into Road Bay from the limestone outcropping.

 

Rendezvous Bay to Maunday’s Bay

Time: 9.00am to 11.00am/11.30am

Need to Know/Special Requirements: Shoes that can get wet; clothes that can get wet; swimsuit; towel; sunscreen; hat; backpack

An easy walk along Anguilla’s southern coastline.

The highlights: Four beaches in one walk; Anguilla’s clear turquoise waters.

 

West End to Barnes Bay

Time: 9.00am to 11.00am/11.30am

A hike along Anguilla’s northwest coastline that involves along a walk through tidal pools, beaches, and low-lying scrub. When the seas allow, cliff-climbing can be optional.

The highlights: Anguilla’s famed arch; iguanas; optional rock climbing.

 

Windward Point

Time: 9.00am to 10.30am/11.00am

A hike to the very eastern tip of the island. Walk along Anguilla’s limestone rocks and through fields of popehead cacti, windswept frangipani, and knee-high buttonwood trees.

The highlights: Amazing views of the eastern side of the island, Scrub Island, and Little Scrub Island; popehead cacti fruit; dramatic landscape; fantastic photography opportunities.

Little Harbour

Time: 9.00am to 10.00am/10.30am

Need to Know/Special Requirements: Sneakers or walking shoes that can wet and muddy; shorts; sunscreen; hat

An adventure through Anguilla’s best mangrove forest.

The highlights: Upside down jellyfish; up close and personal birding; exploring a mangrove-lined lagoon by foot.
